Prior to issuing an application for Financial Remedy it is often advisable to determine whether agreement can be reached without resorting to litigation through the court.

This initial attempt at reaching an agreed settlement requires care to ensure all parties have provided full disclosure and their true assets and income.

Alternative methods of informal pre-issue negotiation and formal mediation exist, such that there are a host of options for parties to consider as a way of seeking to reach agreement without going immediately to Court.

Under the Direct Access scheme I am able to assist and advise through these early preliminary stages and ensure any negotiations have a real prospect of leading to an agreement through ensuring some of the pitfalls of litigation are avoided and that disclosure issues are managed at an early stage.
